Brian Regan's Goals

My goal in serving as an At-Large Council Member is to bring accountability to our manager-council form of government. To me it is very important to demonstrate to our residents that council is making decisions in the best interest of the town as a whole. This requires us to have the skill-set to make good technical decisions and understanding the holistic affects of our actions. My community based leadership and international telecommunications experience is an excellent foundation and framework for my role as an At-Large councilmen.

I believe council needs to manage our finances so that we can provide the most efficient services to our residents. This is easier said, than done! My professional experience has given me the necessary skills to make the hard manpower decisions regarding personnel performance and budgetary constraints.

Franklin is my home and I am proud and happy to have raised my family here. I am passionate about serving our community so new and current residents feel the same way.

Brian Regan’s Resume

Brian and Janice Regan moved to Franklin Township in 1987. We raised our two children here and they both attended and graduated from the Franklin School system. I am a strong believer in community service so since 1987 I have been an active member of St. Matthias Parish serving in the choir, pastoral council and currently head of the Ministry of Hospitality. Additionally, while my children were growing up I was active in PTA, Soccer, Little League, and Boy Scouts.

I have a Master’s of Science in Computer Science over 31 years of experience with Telcordia Technologies working mostly on real-time prepaid charging applications. I have been a Director since 1995 and also spent 1 year living in Chennai, India as Center head of our development center managing over 120 staff members. Though it was very difficult to be away from my family it was a wonderful experience to live in a different country and culture.

In 2001, I joined the Open Space committee and became chairperson in June of 2001. At this time the committee was transitioning from acquiring properties to managing and maintaining properties. This required me to lead a reorganization of the finance accounting so that council would have accurate status on the Open Space Fund.

I was nominated to run as an At-Large Councilman in 2003 and received the most votes of all council and mayoral candidates. I served as an At-Large Councilmen form 2004 – 2007. While on council I served on the Finance Oversight, Public Safety, Land Use, and Fire Services committees.

In March 2011, I was appointed by council to fill a vacant At-Large seat. I currently serve on the Sewerage Authority and Finance Oversight committees. My focus for both committees is improving finance accountability and reporting.
